PROVIDING SCHOLARSHIPS TO ENABLE STUDENTS OF HYDE COUNTY GRAMMAR SCHOOL WHO HAVE REACHED THE AGE OF 17 YEARS 9 MONTHS AND WHOARE PREPARED TO BE APPRENTICED TO MESSRS ASHTON BROTHERS P CO LIMITED TO ENTER, ON THE COMPLETION OF ONE YEAR'S APPRENTICESHIP, A UNIVERSITY OF INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY WHICH IS CAPABLE OF AWARDING UNIVERSITY DEGREES, AND REMAIN THERE FOR THREE YEARS STUDYING PHYSICAL SCIENCE. ENGINEERING OR TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY, RETURNING UPON COMPLETION OF THEIR UNIVERSITY TRAINING TO SERVE A FURTHER YEAR'S APPRENTICESHIP WITH MESSRS ASHTON BROTHERS.
