Charitable objects
THE CHARITY EXISTS TO FURTHER THE FOLLOWING CHARITABLE PURPOSES: 1.1 TO ADVANCE EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY: (A) PROVIDING GRANTS OR OTHER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO ASSIST STUDENTS AND FORMER STUDENTS OF ACADEMIES WITHIN NORTH STAR COMMUNITY TRUST TO UNDERTAKE EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES OR TO RELIEVE THEIR FINANCIAL HARDSHIP TO ENABLE THEM TO PURSUE THEIR EDUCATION; AND (B) FOR THE BENEFIT OF CURRENT AND FORMER STUDENTS OF ACADEMIES WITHIN NORTH STAR COMMUNITY TRUST AND THEIR FAMILIES, AND INHABITANTS OF THE AREAS IN WHICH NORTH STAR COMMUNITY TRUST?S ACADEMIES ARE SITUATED, PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER CHARITABLE MATERIALS, ACTIVITIES OR FACILITIES TO DEVELOP THEIR SKILLS, ENABLE THEM TO ACHIEVE QUALIFICATIONS AND CREATE EMPLOYABILITY OPPORTUNITIES; 1.2 TO ADVANCE IN LIFE AND HELP YOUNG PEOPLE, IN PARTICULAR BY PROVIDING SUPPORT AND ACTIVITIES WHICH DEVELOP THEIR SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE ADULTS; 1.3 TO PROMOTE AND PROTECT THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREAS IN WHICH NORTH STAR COMMUNITY TRUST?S ACADEMIES ARE SITUATED; 1.4 TO PREVENT AND RELIEVE POVERTY AMONGST THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREAS IN WHICH NORTH STAR COMMUNITY TRUST?S ACADEMIES ARE SITUATED; 1.5 TO RELIEVE THOSE IN NEED, BY REASON OF YOUTH, AGE, ILL-HEALTH, DISABILITY, FINANCIAL OR OTHER DISADVANTAGE LIVING IN THE AREAS IN WHICH NORTH STAR COMMUNITY TRUST?S ACADEMIES ARE SITUATED; 1.6 FOR THE BENEFIT OF INHABITANTS OF THE AREAS IN WHICH NORTH STAR COMMUNITY TRUST?S ACADEMIES ARE SITUATED, TO PROVIDE OR ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE; AND 1.7 TO ADVANCE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BY ENCOURAGING CIVIC PARTICIPATION, VOLUNTEERING, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT THAT FOSTERS A STRONG SENSE OF BELONGING, COOPERATION, AND MUTUAL SUPPORT WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.
