Charitable objects
THE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION IS TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC BY THE PROMOTION, SUPPORT, ASSISTANCE AND IMPROVEMENT OF BATLEY LIBRARY AND THE LIBRARY SERVICE IN GENERAL, IN PARTICULAR BY: I) SUPPORTING THE RETENTION AND MAINTENANCE OF BATLEY LIBRARY, WITH ADEQUATE PROFESSIONAL STAFF AND APPROPRIATE OPENING HOURS FOR THE COMMUNITY SERVED, AND OFFERING THE WIDEST POSSIBLE RANGE OF BOOKS, NEWSPAPERS, MAGAZINES AND OTHER MATERIALS IN AUDIO, VISUAL AND ELECTRONIC FORMATS; II) FACILITATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR VOLUNTEERING, ENABLING A SOCIAL HUB FOR EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY AND WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHER LOCAL GROUPS, SCHOOLS AND ORGANISATIONS; III) SEEKING TO ENSURE THE CONTINUING AVAILABILITY OF ACCESS TO COUNCIL SERVICES AND INFORMATION AT THE LIBRARY; IV) ACTIVELY PROMOTING BATLEY LIBRARY AND THE SERVICES IT PROVIDES TO THE WIDER COMMUNITY; V) FACILITATING LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES.
