Charitable objects
TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF CHILDREN, YOUNG PERSONS, THEIR IMMEDIATE FAMILY AND CARERS, WHO ARE IN NEED BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, DISABILITY, BOTH PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ILL HEALTH, AND THOSE IDENTIFIED AS BEING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED THROUGH THE PROVISION OF EQUINE ASSISTED THERAPIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PROGRAMMES, SUCH AS, THE CHANGING LIVES THROUGH HORSES. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE ‘SOCIALLY EXCLUDED’ MEANS BEING EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PARTS OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING FACTORS: MISSING FROM EDUCATION, NEET (NOT IN EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT OR TRAINING), FINANCIAL HARDSHIP; YOUTH; MENTAL HEALTH; SUBSTANCE ABUSE OR DEPENDENCY INCLUDING ALCOHOL AND DRUGS; POOR EDUCATIONAL OR SKILLS ATTAINMENT; RELATIONSHIP AND FAMILY BREAKDOWN; POOR HOUSING (THAT IS HOUSING THAT DOES NOT MEET BASIC HABITABLE STANDARDS); CRIME (EITHER AS A VICTIM OF CRIME OR AS AN OFFENDER REHABILITATING INTO SOCIETY). FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE THE ‘CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE’ THE CHARITY AIMS TO REACH IS UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF THE BRITISH HORSE SOCIETY (BHS) CHANGING LIVES THROUGH HORSES PROGRAMME – THE PROGRAMME IS SUITABLE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE, AGED 5-25, WHO ARE EITHER PERMANENTLY EXCLUDED, AT RISK OF PERMANENT EXCLUSION OR WHO HAVE SPECIAL EDUCATION NEEDS OR DISABILITIES (SEND) AND THOSE WHO ARE NOT IN EMPLOYMENT, EDUCATION, OR TRAINING (NEET). THE CHANGING LIVES THROUGH HORSES PROGRAMME IS STRUCTURED AROUND TWO FRAMEWORKS FOR YOUNGER AND OLDER PARTICIPANTS, OFFERING HORSE CARE AND RIDDEN MODULES WITH AWARDS AND CERTIFICATES TO RECOGNISE ACHIEVEMENT.
