Charitable objects

THE OBJECT OF THE CIO, TO BE CARRIED OUT FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN HERTFORDSHIRE AND THE SURROUNDING COUNTIES, IS: TO ACT AS A RESOURCE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 6 - 25 FROM ECONOMICALLY AND SOCIALLY DISADVANTAGED BACKGROUNDS BY PROVIDING ADVICE AND ASSISTANCE AND ORGANISING PROGRAMMES OF PHYSICAL, EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER ACTIVITIES AS A MEANS OF: (A) ADVANCING IN LIFE AND HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE BY DEVELOPING THEIR SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS INDEPENDENT, MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS; (B) ADVANCING EDUCATION; (C) PROVIDING RECREATIONAL AND LEISURE TIME ACTIVITY IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE WITH A VIEW TO IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE OF SUCH PERSONS. IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE PURPOSE THE CHARITY WILL MAKE GRANTS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS, OR TO CHARITIES, VOLUNTARY AND NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANISATIONS WHOSE ACTIVITIES (WHETHER OFFERED THROUGH PROJECTS, SCHEMES, PROGRAMMES, OR EXPERIENCES) ARE CAPABLE OF ADVANCING YOUNG PEOPLE IN LIFE.
