Charitable objects
THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC AND IN PARTICULAR ORTHODOX TEWAHIDO BELIEVERS, TO PROMOTE THE ADVANCEMENT OF RELIGION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DOCTRINES, CANONICAL LAWS, THE QALE AWADI (ECCLESIASTICAL CONSTITUTION), AND LITURGICAL TRADITIONS OF THE ETHIOPIAN ORTHODOX TEWAHEDO CHURCH (EOTC), UNDER THE HOLY SYNOD IN ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA, AND ITS UK & IRELAND DIOCESE, AND IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS OBJECT— (A) TO PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN PLACES OF WORSHIP AND HOLD RELIGIOUS SERVICES FOR PUBLIC WORSHIP. (B) TO PROMOTE RELIGIOUS HARMONY AND GOOD COMMUNAL RELATIONS BY PROMOTING MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING OF AND RESPECT FOR THE BELIEFS AND PRACTICES OF DIFFERENT RELIGIOUS FAITHS. (C) TO RELIEVE PERSONS SUFFERING FROM SICKNESS (MENTAL OR PHYSICAL), FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, OR SOCIAL DISADVANTAGE, INCLUDING ASYLUM SEEKERS, REFUGEES, AND OTHER VULNERABLE INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS, THROUGH SPIRITUAL CARE AND CHARITABLE SUPPORT CONSISTENT WITH THE MISSION OF THE ETHIOPIAN ORTHODOX TEWAHEDO CHURCH. (D) TO SUPPORT ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSE AS MAY BE DECIDED UPON FROM TIME BY THE TRUSTEES AND MEMBERS. (E) TO PROMOTE BIBLICAL EDUCATION AND FACILITATE VISITS TO HOLY SITES, TEACHING THE HISTORY AND SPIRITUAL HERITAGE OF THE ETHIOPIAN ORTHODOX TEWAHEDO CHURCH.
