Charitable objects
THE OBJECT OF LIBRARIES AND INFORMATION EAST MIDLANDS IS TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC THROUGH PROMOTING LIBRARY CO-OPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT. THE ORGANISATION WILL ENCOURAGE WIDENING ACCESS TO LIBRARY AND INFORMATION RESOURCES, IN PARTICULAR BY THE INTERLENDING OF BOOKS AND RELATED MATERIALS PRIMARILY BETWEEN MEMBER LIBRARIES, BUT ALSO BY CO-OPERATION WITH LIBRARIES IN OTHER REGIONS AND WITH THE BRITISH LIBRARY AND OTHER NATIONAL AND REGIONAL BODIES; TO ASSIST ANY ACTION DESIGNED TO IMPROVE LIBRARY FACILITIES AND RESOURCES BY CO-OPERATION BETWEEN LIBRARIES.
