Charitable objects
1. A) FOR THE BENEFIT OF PERSONS OF EITHER SEX WHO HAVE NOT ATTAINED THE AGE OF 25 YEARS RESIDENT IN THE COUNTY BOROUGH OF BIRMINGHAM, WHO, IN THE OPINION OF THE TRUSTEES, ARE IN NEED OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, IN AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS, BURSARIES, MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES OR GRANTS TENABLE AT ANY SCHOOL, UNIVERSITY OR OTHER PLACE OF LEARNING, APPROVED BY THE TRUSTEES. B) IN PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, OUTFITS, CLOTHING, TOOLS, INSTUMENTS OR BOOKS, TO HELP ON LEAVING SCHOOL, A UNIVERCITY OR ANY OTHER EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENT TO PREPARE FOR, OR TO ENTER, A PROFFESION, TRADE OR CALLING. C) IN AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS OR MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES TO ENABLE TRAVEL ABROARD TO PERSUE THEIR EDUCATION. D) IN PROVIDING, OR ASSISTING THE PROVISION OF, FACILITIES OF ANY KIND NOT NORMALLY PROVIDED BY THE LOCAL EDUCATION AUTHORITY, FOR RECREATION AND SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL TRAINING, INCLUDING THE PROVISION OF COACHING IN ATHLETICS, SPORTS AND GAMES, FOR THOSE WHO ARE RECEIVING PRIMARY, SECONDARY OR FURTHER EDUCATION. E) IN PROVIDING FINANC IAL ASSISTANCE TO ENABLE THE STUDY OF MUSIC OR OTHER ARTS. 2. WITHIN THE LIMITS PRESCRIBED BY THIS SCHEME, THE TRUSTEES SHALL HAVE FULL POWER TO MAKE RULES FOR THE AWARD OF SCHOLARSHIPS, BURSARIES, MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES, GRANTS, OR OTHER BENEFITS, INCLUDING RULES AS TO THE VALUE AND PERIOD OF TENURE OF THE AWARDS, AND THE QUALIFICATINS, AND METHOD OF ASCERTAINMENT AND SELECTION, OF BENEFICIARIES.
