Charitable objects
(1) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND RELIEVE NEED AMONG YOUNG AND OTHER UNEMPLOYED PERSONS RESIDENT IN ENGLAND AND WALES WITH PARTICULAR EMPHASIS UPON PERSONS RESIDENT IN THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF ST. HELENS IN THE COUNTY OF MERSEYSIDE WITH THE PROVISION (SAVE IN EXCEPTION CIRCUMSTANCES FOR A PERIOD NOT EXCEEDING 2 YEARS IN THE CASE OF ANY ONE INDIVIDUAL) OF GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT UNDER SUCH TRAINING FACILITIES AS WILL ENABLE SUCH PERSONS AS AFORESAID TO ACQUIRE AND DEVELOP THEIR VOCATIONAL SKILLS. (2) TO PROMOTE ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSE IN THE SAID AREA AND IN PARTICULAR CHARITABLE PURPOSE DIRECTED TO PROMOTING THE WELFARE OF OLDER PEOPLE.
