TO PROMOTE THE RELIEF OF ILLNESS AND SUFFERING IN SUCH WAYS AS THE ASSOCIATION SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT, AND IN PARTICULAR IN THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF ROCHDALE IN THE METROPOLITAN COUNTY OF GREATER MANCHESTER, THE TOWNSHIP OF WHITWORTH AND OTHER PLACES IN THE COUNTIES OF LANCASHIRE AND CHESHIRE AND ADJACENT AREAS.
