TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND PROMOTE THE SCIENTIFIC STUDY OF SAFETY AND RELIABILITY AND ASSOCIATED DISCIPLINES, MAINTAINABILITY, AVAILABILITY, RISK ASSESSMENT AND LIFE-CYCLE COSTING, IN RELATION TO THE DESIGN OF PLANT, SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC AND THEREBY TO PROMOTE INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE. 2. TO PUBLISH THE RESULTS OF SUCH STUDIES WORLDWIDE.
