TO PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE THE PUBLIC STUDY OF FAMILY HISTORY, GENEALOGY, HERALDRY AND LOCAL HISTORY WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE COUNTY OF DORSET. TO PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION, SECURITY AND ACCESSIBILITY OF ARCHIVAL MATERIAL.
