Charitable objects

(1) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE CONTRIBUTION MADE BY THE CITIZENS OF MALTA AND THE MEMBERS OF THE ALLIED FORCES SERVING THERE OR SUPPLYING THE ISLAND DURING THE SIEGE OF MALTA 1940-1943 AND THE SACRIFICES MADE BY THEM AND IN FURTHERANCE THEREOF THE COMMISSIONING, ERECTION AND MAINTENANCE OF A SCULPTURE OR WORK OF ART AS A PUBLIC MEMORIAL TO THE SIEGE AND SUCH PERSONS. (2) AFTER THE PRIMARY OBJECT HAS BEEN FULFILLED, THE RELIEF OF POVERTY SICKNESS OR DISTRESS OF VETERANS OF TH SECOND WORLD WAR AND THEIR FAMILIES AND DEPENDANTS WHO ARE IN NECESSITOUS CIRCUMSTANCES, WITH PARTICULAR EMPHASIS ON THOSE WHO SERVED IN THE DEFENCE AND SUPPLY OF MALTA AND THOSE WHO OPERATED FROM MALTA DURING THE SIEGE, AND WITH POWER FOR THE TRUSTEES TO MAKE DONATIONS OR GRANTS AT ANY TIME OR TIMES TO ANY CHARITABLE INSTITUTION OR INSTITUTIONS WHOSE OBJECTS ARE OR INCLUDE OBJECTS WHICH ARE THE SAME AS OR SIMILAR TO THOSE DESCRIBED IN THIS SUB-CLAUSE.
