1) IS THE RELIEF OF MANUFACTURES, MERCHANTS, TRADESMEN OR WOMEN, PROFESSIONAL MEN OR WOMEN, PERSONS WHO ARE SERVED IN A MANAGERIAL POSITION AND OTHER PERSONS WHO FOR A CONTINUOUS OR AGGREGATE PERIOD OF SEVEN YEARS HAVE CONDUCTED OR BEEN ENGAGED IN BUSINESS IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT, WHO HAVE ATTAINED A RESPECTABLE POSITION IN SOCIETY, AND THEIR FAMILIES AND DEPENDANTS, WHO ARE IN NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS. 2) IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE, THE COMMITTEE MAY MAKE GRANTS TO OTHER ORGANISATIONS WITH SIMILAR OBJECTS SERVING THE AREA OF BENEFIT.
