Charitable objects

1. THE OBJECT OF THE CHARITY IS, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, THE RELIEF OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS AMONGST BENEFICIARIES IN SUCH NEED BY THE PROVISION OF ALMSHOUSE ACCOMMODATION FOR THEM. 2. THE TRUSTEES MAY, IN EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES, APPOINT A RESIDENT WHO LIVES OUTSIDE THE AREA OF BENEFIT AND HAS NOT RESIDED, WORKED OR CARRIED ON BUSINESS IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT FOR AT LEAST FIVE YEARS BUT IS OTHERWISE QUALIFIED.
