TO ENCOURAGE SKILL IN RIFLE AND PISTOL SHOOTING IN ANY OF HER MAJESTY'S SUBJECTS UNDER THE AGE OF 25 YEARS SO THEY WILL BE BETTER FITTED TO SERVE THEIR COUNTRY IN THE ARMED FORCES, TERRITORIAL ARMY OR ANY OTHER ORGANISATION IN WHICH THEIR SERVICES MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE REALM IN TIMES OF PERIL.
