TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN SEATON, COLYTON, AXMOUTH AND ADJACENT PARISHES IN THE COUNTY OF DEVON BY THE PROVISION OF A MUSEUM AND FACILITIES FOR RESEARCH IN THE ARCHAEOLOGY, HISTORY, GEOGRAPHY, GEOLOGY, NATURAL HISTORY, ARCHITECTURE AND LITERATURE AND RELATED SUBJECT APPERTAINING TO THE SAID DISTRICT.
