FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE RESIDENTS OF THE GREATER READING AND ADJOINING AREAS ("THE AREA OF BENEFIT"), ARE: TO RELIEVE POVERTY AND UNEMPLOYMENT, ADVANCE EDUCATION, PROTECT HEALTH, PRESERVE THE ENVIRONMENT AND TO FURTHER SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOS0ES WHICH ARE BENEFICIAL TO THE PUBLIC BY PROMOTING THE PRACTICAL INTEREST AND INVOLVEMENT OF COMPANIES, FIRMS, VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS, LOCAL ORGANISATIONS, LOCAL AUTHORITIES AND INDIVIDUALS IN SUCH PURPOSES.
