Charitable objects
1. THE PROVISION OF ALMSHOUSES FOR POOR PERSONS WHO ARE RESIDENT IN THE PARISH OF COTTENHAM AT THE TIME OF APPOINTMENT.
2. THE RELIEF EITHER GENERALLY OR INDIVIDUALLY OF PERSONS RESIDENT IN THE PARISH OF COTTENHAM WHO ARE IN NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS BY MAKING GRANTS OF MONEY OR PROVIDING OR PAYING FOR ITEMS, SERVICES OR FACILITIES CALCULATED TO REDUCE THE NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS OF SUCH PERSONS;
3. TO ASSIST PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 25 RESIDENT IN THE PARISH OF COTTENHAM IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
A) APPRENTICING BENEFICIARIES TO SOME USEFUL TRADE OR OCCUPATION;
B) IN ASSISTING BENEFICIARIES WHO ARE PREPARING FOR, ENTERING UPON OR ENGAGING IN, ANY PROFESSION, TRADE, OCCUPATION OR SERVICE BY PROVIDING THEM WITH OUTFITS, OR BY THE PAYMENT OF FEES, TRAVELLING OR MAINTENANCE EXPENSES, OR BY SUCH OTHER MEANS FOR THEIR ADVANCEMENT IN LIFE OR ENABLE THEM TO EARN THEIR OWN LIVING AS THE TRUSTEES THINK FIT;
C) IN AWARDING TO BENEFICIARIES EXHIBITIONS TENABLE TO ANY SECONDARY SCHOOL, TRAINING COLLEGE FOR TEACHERS, UNIVERSITY OR OTHER INSTITUTION OF FURTHER (INCLUDING PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL) EDUCATION APPROVED BY THE TRUSTEES;
D) IN OTHERWISE PROMOTING THE EDUCATION (INCLUDING SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL TRAINING) OF BENEFICIARIES.
