We aim to promote the importance of archives; support members to achieve accreditation and workforce development; explore a regional solution for digital preservation; develop a volunteer strategy.

THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO ADVANCE EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY SUPPORTING THE COLLECTION, STORAGE, PRESERVATION OF AND ACCESS TO ARCHIVAL MATERIALS RELATING TO THE WEST MIDLANDS REGION AND TO SUPPORT WORK THAT INCREASES THE PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF THE PEOPLE, PLACES AND EVENTS THAT HAVE SHAPED THE REGION.
