THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: 1. THE RELIEF OF MENTAL ILLNESS AND THE PRESERVATION OF HEALTH AMONG PEOPLE RESIDING PERMANENTLY OR TEMPORARILY IN HASTINGS SPECIFICALLY, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY. 2. TO ASSIST IN THE TREATMENT AND CARE OF PERSONS SUFFERING FROM MENTAL ILLNESS OF ANY DESCRIPTION OR IN NEED OF REHABILITATION AS A RESULT OF SUCH ILLNESS BY THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR THERAPEUTIC WORK AND RECREATION.
