Channels is a charity dedicated to enhancing social mobility in the East Midlands, particularly in education. We provide high quality schools outreach and careers advice in partnership with world-class corporates and universities, usually based in London. We are a student lead organisation, informed by lived experience of inequality in education We draw on this to create innovative outreach.

Charitable objects
TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PREVENTING YOUNG PEOPLE RESIDING IN THE EAST MIDLANDS AGED 14-23 IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT LIMITATION) FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, RELIEVING THE NEEDS OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY THROUGH PROVIDING: A) AN OPPORTUNITY TO BUILD CAPACITY BY DEVELOPING SOFT SKILLS THAT WILL HELP THEM ENTER HIGHER EDUCATION OR THE PROFESSIONAL WORKFORCE AND SUBSEQUENTLY INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY; B) PROVIDING ADVICE/ASSISTANCE, WORKSHOPS AND MENTORING PROGRAMMES IN ORDER TO ENTER HIGHER EDUCATION OR THE PROFESSIONAL WORKFORCE. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE ‘SOCIALLY EXCLUDED’ MEANS BEING EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PART OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF BEING A MEMBER OF A SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DEPRIVED COMMUNITY’.
