Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION, PRESERVATION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: A) INFORMING AND ENGAGING WITH INDIVIDUALS IN SENIOR LEADERSHIP ROLES OR OTHER SENIOR POSITIONS OF CONTROL OR RESPONSIBILITY WHETHER IN THE PRIVATE OR PUBLIC SECTOR IN ORDER TO SUPPORT THEM AND THEIR ORGANISATIONS TO CONSERVE, PROTECT, AND IMPROVE THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT: I. PROMOTING AWARENESS OF THE IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE NEED TO TAKE POSITIVE ACTION IN ORDER TO PREVENT OR MITIGATE THE CAUSES AND/OR EFFECTS ON PEOPLE AND THE PLANET; II. FACILITATING DEBATE AND CONTRIBUTIONS ON THE SUBJECT OF CLIMATE CHANGE, ITS CAUSES AND EFFECTS; III. PROVIDING INFORMATION, MATERIALS AND TOOLS TO SUPPORT LEADERS IN TAKING DECISIONS THAT WILL ENABLE THE GRADUAL ELIMINATION OF THE CAUSES OF CLIMATE CHANGE TO ENSURE THE CONTINUATION OF LIFE ON OUR PLANET; IV. PROVIDING ACCESS TO AND DISSEMINATING CLIMATE CHANGE RESEARCH AND CURRENT EXPERT KNOWLEDGE IN THE AREAS OF SCIENCE, FINANCE, LAW AND GOVERNANCE IN ORDER TO SUPPORT CLIMATE MITIGATION AND ADAPTATION AND REDUCE ITS IMPACT ON PEOPLE AND THE PLANET; B) ENCOURAGING, ENABLING AND ESTABLISHING LINKS OF INTERACTION AND COLLABORATION BETWEEN ACADEMICS, LEGAL AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS, AND PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR BOARDS IN ORDER TO SUPPORT THEM IN THEIR OBJECTIVES TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE.
