TO PROMOTE THE EFFICIENCY OF THE RIFLES (THE REGIMENT) BY: (1)MAINTAINING CONTACT BETWEEN FORMER MEMBERS OF THE FORMER THE LIGHT INFANTRY, THE FORMER THE SOMERSET LIGHT INFANTRY AND THE FORMER THE SOMERSET & CORNWALL LIGHT INFANTRY (THE FORMER REGIMENTS) AND FORMER AND SERVING MEMBERS OF THE REGIMENT, FOSTERING MUTUAL FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN THEM AND PROVIDING FOR SOCIAL GATHERINGS FOR THEM; AND 2)FOSTERING ESPRIT DE CORPS, COMRADESHIP AND THE WELFARE OF THE REGIMENT AND PRESERVING ITS TRADITIONS AND THOSE OF THE FORMER REGIMENTS. B.
