TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY OF THE CONTRIBUTION OF THOSE AIR CREW OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE FIGHER COMMAND WHO FLEW AND LOST THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR COUNTRY DURING THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN (12TH JULY TO 31ST OCTOBER, 1940) BY THE ERECTION AND MAINTENANCE OF A MEMORIAL.
