Charitable objects
TO ENABLE THE TRUSTEES TO OFFER TO ANY MINISTER OF THE UNITED REFORMED CHURCH OR ANY NON-UNITING CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH WHO AT THE TIME OF SUCH OFFER IS OR HAS BEEN A MINISTER OF ANY SUCH CHURCH WITHIN THE NORTH WESTERN SYNOD OR THE MERSEY SYNOD OF THE UNITED REFORMED CHURCH OR ANY NON-UNITING CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH WITHIN THE SAME GEOGRAPHICAL AREA AS IS COVERED BY THE TWO SYNODS WHO HAS BEEN A MINISTER OF ANY SUCH CHURCH FOR A PERIOD OF NOT LESS THAN 5 YEARS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SUCH OFFER IN ANY SUCH CHURCH OR CHURCHES (REFERRED IN THE RULES AS A 'QUALIFYING MINISTER') GRANTS TO RELIEVE NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS INCLUDING AN ANNUAL GRANT FOLLOWING HIS/HER RETIREMENT AND TO MAKE PROVISION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE WIDOW AND CHILDREN OF SUCH MINISTERS.

IN PRACTICE THE NORTH WESTERN AND MERSEY SYNOD OF THE UNITED REFORMED CHURCH OR ANY NON-UNITING CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH WITHIN THE SAME GEOGRAPHICAL AREA COVERED BY THE 2 SYNODS
