TO MAKE GRANTS TO UNMARRIED OR WIDOWED WOMEN OVER THE AGE OF FIFTY WHO APPEAR TO BE IN NEEDY CIRCUMSTANCES (SELECTED BY THE TRUSTEES) AND WHO LIVE IN THE HISTORIC COUNTY OF WESTMORLAND, PRINCIPALLY IN THE PARISH OF AMBLESIDE, AND TO MAKE GRANTS DIRECTLY OR THROUGH ANOTHER CHARITABLE ORGANISATION TO NEEDY AND ELDERLY PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE HISTORIC COUNTY OF WESTMORLAND, PRINCIPALLY IN THE PARISH OF AMBLESIDE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT.
