RESIDENCE OF ALMSPEOPLE WHO SHALL BE POOR PERSONS WHO ARE NOT LESS THAN 55 YEARS OF AGE AND WHO (EXCEPT IN SPECIAL CASES TO BE APPROVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS) HAVE RESIDED WITHIN A RADIUS OF 3 MILES FROM THE SAID ALMSHOUSES FOR NOT LESS THAN ONE YEAR NEXT PRECEDING THE TIME OF APPOINTMENT.
