Charitable objects

THE EXHIBITIONS SHALL BE AWARDED TO BOYS AND GIRLS RESIDENT IN THE BOROUGH OF HIGHAM FERRERS WHO, IN THE OPINION OF THE GOVERNORS, ARE IN NEED OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF ATTENDING A SECONDARY SCHOOL, BUT NOT TO ANY CANDIDATE (EXCEPT AS IN THIS SCHEME PROVIDED) WHO ARE AND HAVE FOR NOT LESS THAN TWO YEARS BEEN IN ATTENDANCE OT PUBLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN THE SAID BOROUGH , AND SUBJECT TO THIS PREFERENCE THE EXHIBITIONS SHALL BE AWARDED AS FAR AS POSSIBLE TO BOYS AND GIRLS ALTERNATELY.
