(I) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD BY PROMOTING STUDY, RESEARCH AND TEACHING IN THE POLICY, PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICE OF LAND USE AND DEVELOPMENT AND URBAN PLANNING AND DESIGN SO AS TO ENHANCE THE ENVIRONMENT PROVIDED THAT THE USEFUL RESULTS OF ANY SUCH RESEARCH IS DISSEMINATED TO THE PUBLIC; AND (II) TO PROMOTE HIGH STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE AND INTERPROFESSIONAL CO-OPERATION IN THESE FIELDS.
