Charitable objects
THE TRUSTEES SHALL HOLD THE TRUST FUND AND ITS INCOME UPON TRUST TO PAY THEM TO SUCH CHARITY OR APPLY THEM FOR SUCH OBJECTS ("THE OBJECTS") IN EACH CASE IN ANY PART OF THE WORLD AS ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES AND IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING): 2.1) THE ADVANCEMENT OF RELIGION BY THE PROMOTION OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH; 2.2) THE ADVANCEMENT OF HEALTH BY THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF SICKNESS, DISEASE OR HUMAN SUFFERING; 2.3) THE RELIEF AND PREVENTION OF POVERTY; 2.4) THE PROMOTION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC BY: 2.4.1) THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE IN SOCIALLY AND DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES; 2.4.2) THE PROMOTION OF SUSTAINABLE MEANS OF ACHIEVING ECONOMIC GROWTH AND REGENERATION; 2.5) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC: 2.5.1) IN SUBJECTS RELATING TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT; AND 2.5.2) BY THE PROMOTION OF RESEARCH ON THE SYSTEMIC CAUSES OF POVERTY, DISEASE AND HUMAN SUFFERING AND THE DISSEMINATION OF THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH; FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS CLAUSE 2 "SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT" MEANS "DEVELOPMENT WHICH MEETS THE NEEDS OF THE PRESENT WITHOUT COMPROMISING THE ABILITY OF FUTURE GENERATIONS TO MEET THEIR OWN NEEDS".
