Barn Elms Sports Trust (BEST) is a charitable trust dedicated to preserving Barn Elms Playing Fields, an open space in Barnes SW13 9SA in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames [LBRUT]. During the course of 2012 LBRUT decided to allow communities to manage their local sites. BEST was awarded a licence to manage Barn Elms from the beginning of September 2012 on a not for profit basis.

Charitable objects
3.1 TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC AT LARGE IN THE LONDON BOROUGH OF RICHMOND UPON THAMES AND WANDSWORTH AND THE SURROUNDING LONDON BOROUGHS ("THE AREA") THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE OF THE PERSONS LIVING IN OR VISITING THE AREA FOR WHOM THE FACILITIES ARE PRIMARILY INTENDED. 3.2 TO ADVANCE THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF PUPILS AND STUDENTS OF SCHOOLS, UNIVERSITIES AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE AREA BY ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PLAY GAMES OR SPORTS.
