Activities - how the charity spends its money
The Cholsey Silver Band functions to offer a service to both the players of the band and also the local community. The junior and senior bands meet once a week to practice and to train new players. The bands also perform at local events (eg Remembrance service, Mayor's parade and local fetes) as well as concerts throughout the year.

Charitable objects
PROMOTE THE PLAYING OF BRASS INSTRUMENTS AND THE APPRECIATION OF MUSIC, AND ESPECIALLY BRASS BAND MUSIC, WITHIN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY BY: A) PROVIDING AFFORDABLE EDUCATION, PLAYING AND MUSICAL DIRECTION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THOSE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC, BOTH YOUNG AND OLD AND OF ANY GENDER, WHO ARE INTERESTED IN PLAYING A BRASS INSTRUMENT; B) PROVIDING MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC THAT MAKE UP THE AUDIENCES BY THE PLAYING OF BRASS BAND MUSIC ON SUITABLE OCCASIONS, WHETHER PAID OR FREE-OF-CHARGE; C) PROVIDING, AS PART OF ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION, A RANGE OF INSTRUMENTS TO BE PLAYED WITH THE BAND, FOR THE BENEFIT OF MEMBERS WITHOUT THEIR OWN INSTRUMENTS.
