Charitable objects
1) TO INSTITUTE, PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, THE STUDY OF LOCAL HISTORY IN ALL ITS ASPECTS, 2) TO OWN, MAINTAIN AND MANAGE THE MUSEUM AT HAMPTON COTTAGE, 64 CHURCH STREET, LEATHERHEAD, THE MAINTAINING AND CURATION OF ARTEFACTS FOR THE PARISHES OF ASHTEAD, FETCHAM, GREAT AND LITTLE BOOKHAM, HEADLEY, LEATHERHEAD, MICKLEHAM AND THE SURROUNDING DISTRICT FOR CURRENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS, AND 3) THE RETENTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE ARCHIVES AND RECORDS OF THE HISTORY SOCIETY FOR THE PARISHES OF ASHTEAD, FETCHAM, GREAT AND LITTLE BOOKHAM, LEATHERHEAD AND THE SURROUNDING DISTRICT FOR CURRENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS. IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE: I. TO PUBLISH SUCH HISTORICAL/EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS AS MAY BE DESIRABLE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC IN PRINTED AND DIGITAL MEDIA AND ALSO TO USE THE LATTER TO PROVIDE RESEARCH FACILITIES FOR ITS MEMBERS; II. TO HOLD OR PARTICIPATE IN EVENTS SUCH AS TALKS ON LOCAL HISTORY AND OTHER HISTORICAL EVENTS OF INTEREST TO MEMBERS, AND TO ARRANGE VISITS TO PLACES OF HISTORICAL INTEREST; AND III. TO ENCOURAGE, WHERE DESIRABLE, THE PRESERVATION OF ANY SITE, BUILDING, MONUMENT OR RECORD OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL, ANTIQUARIAN OR HISTORICAL INTEREST IN THE DISTRICT AND TO CO-OPERATE WITH PUBLIC OR PRIVATE BODIES OR INDIVIDUALS IN SAFEGUARDING SUCH SITES, BUILDINGS, MONUMENTS OR RECORDS.
