The Red Rose Steam Society Ltd. now trading as the Lancashire Mining Museum is a registered charity and a registered museum. It has the last mining headgear in the Lancashire Coalfield ands the largest winding engine in Europe - both are on the at risk register of listed buildings.. The Society continues to foster the love of industrial heritage particularly amongst young people
