Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO PROMOTE THE EDUCATION OF PEOPLE [PARTICULARLY, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, UNDER THE AGE OF 25 YEARS] IN ALL FORMS OF THE ARTS IN THE ISLE OF PURBECK AND SURROUNDING AREA IN SUCH WAYS AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES THINK FIT, INCLUDING BY: 1. AWARDING TO SUCH PERSONS GRANTS OR SCHOLARSHIPS TO FURTHER THEIR EDUCATION IN THE ARTS, 2. ADVANCING THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG PERSONS AT SCHOOLS WITHIN THE ISLE OF PURBECK AND SURROUNDING AREA BY MAKING GRANTS TO ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT [NOT REQUIRED TO BE PROVIDED BY THE LOCAL EDUCATION AUTHORITY] FOR EDUCATION IN THE ARTS AT SAID SCHOOLS. 3. ASSISTING ANY CHARITABLE ORGANISATIONS WITH SIMILAR CHARITABLE OBJECTS IN THE ISLE OF PURBECK IN ESTABLISHING AND PROMOTING CONCERTS, DRAMATIC PERFORMANCES, ART AND CRAFT EXHIBITIONS, FLOWER ARRANGING, LECTURES, DISCUSSIONS, WORKSHOPS, DEMONSTRATIONS AND OTHER APPROPRIATE CHARITABLE EDUCATIONAL EVENTS IN ANY BRANCH OF THE ARTS, MAKING SUCH CHARITABLE FUNCTIONS AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008]
