TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE SUBJECT OF LANGUAGE, BY (1) ORGANIZING NATIONAL COMPETITIONS FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS: (2) PROVIDING SOME COACHING IN LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS; (3) SELECTING, TRAINING AND ORGANIZING TEAMS TO REPRESENT THE UK AT THE INTERNATIONAL LINGUISTICS OLYMPIAD AND (4) ENCOURAGING AND ENHANCING LINGUISTICS EDUCATION, PARTICULARLY IN SCHOOLS.
