Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE SCHOOL ARE THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC BY THE PROVISION AND CONDUCT OF A DAY SCHOOL FOR BOYS AND GIRLS IN OR NEAR THE LONDON BOROUGH OF LEWISHAM, WHICH SCHOOL SHALL BE CALLED COLFE'S (BEING THE SCHOOL FOUNDED BY THE REVEREND JOHN GLYNN IN 1568 AND AUGMENTED AND REGULATED BY THE WILL OF ABRAHAM COLFE WHO DIED IN 1657) AND, IN SO FAR AS IT IS INCIDENTAL OR ANCILLARY TO THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION, SUCH OTHER PURPOSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AS SHALL BE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE.
