Activities - how the charity spends its money
The charity has been established to raise funds in Great Britain for the benefit of Mercy International Association ("MIA"), a charity registered in Ireland (No: CHY 10078). MIA was established in 1992 to facilitate collaboration among the congregations of the Roman Catholic Sisters of Mercy as founded by Catherine McAuley to meet the needs of today and to work for justice throughout the world.

THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT:(1)TO ADVANCE THE ROMAN CATHOLIC RELIGION WORLDWIDE; AND 2)TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO RELIEVE FINANCIAL HARDSHIP WORLDWIDE; IN SO FAR AS SUCH PURPOSES ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES AND IN PARTICULAR (WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING) TO CONTINUE THE RELIGIOUS AND OTHER CHARITABLE WORKS OF THE SISTERS OF MERCY AS FOUNDED BY THE LATE CATHERINE MCAULEY AND THEIR ASSOCIATES AND COLLEAGUES IN MINISTRY AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES SHALL IN THEIR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION THINK FIT.
