3 Objects The Charity Objects (‘The objects) are: 1. To relieve and prevent poverty, suffering and illness and for the protection, preservation and promotion of good health and welfare in Sierra Leone, in particular in the remote regions, through the improvement of drinking water supplies, sanitation and amenities and provision of goods and services by, In particular but not exclusively: a) Funding the materials to build wells in previously unserved communities in need of clean drinking water; b) Organising and obtaining technical support and that of local labourers required to build and maintain the wells; c) Funding the materials required to run the pumps which deliver water to standpipes throughout towns, in particular, Madina. d) Reducing the incidences of water borne diseases including dysentery, malaria and other infections caused by parasites contaminated water and poor sanitation by providing sustainable clean water and ‘deep drop’ toilets. e) Training the local people to ensure that they operate and maintain their wells in a sustainable way to prolong the supply of clean water. f) Promoting education and training in the erection and maintenance of clean and protected water supplies. g) Reducing the risk of disease carried by vermin by funding building materials for vermin-proof crop storage facilities. h) Promote wellbeing by providing funding for materials for self-build meeting rooms, in particular but not exclusively, to provide teenagers with a place to meet. i) To provide funding for solar powered lighting in remote towns and villages. 2. To advance the education of children in Sierra Leone, especially in the remote regions by, In particular but not exclusively: a) Funding building materials for self build village educational facilities: in particular Infant schools where the nearest primary school is too far away for young children to walk. b) Funding the provision of educational goods and services. Nothing in this constitution shall authorize an application of the property of the charity for purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and /or section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
