Charitable objects
THE AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPANY SHALL BE TO RELIEVE THE NEED AND DISABILITY OF PERSONS WHO SUFFER FROM MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND WELL BEING PROBLEMS WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHICAL AREA OF NORTH WEST WALES AS STATED BY THE 1996 CHANGES IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND LOCAL HEALTH AUTHORITY RECONFIGURATION BY:-" 1. ASSISTING SUCH PERSONS TO OBTAIN FULL RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES AS CITIZENS. 2. PROVIDING INDEPENDENT ADVOCACY TO PERSONS IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT. 3. THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH AND RELATED ISSUES. 4. THE DEFINITION OF WELLBEING FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPANY IS MADE IN LIGHT OF THE EQUALITY ACT 2010, WHICH ENSURES THE FULL AND FAIR PARTICIPATION OF MARGINALISED OR UNDER-REPRESENTED GROUPS, WHERE THESE GROUPS MAY BE EXCLUDED FROM FULL AND FAIR PARTICIPATION AS A RESULT OF DISCRIMINATION AND DISADVANTAGE, OR OTHER BARRIERS. IT HAS DEFINITIONS OF PROTECTED CHARACTERISTICS. ANYONE WHO SUFFERS INEQUALITY OR DISCRIMINATION AS A RESULT OF ONE OR MORE PROTECTED CHARACTERISTICS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EXPERIENCE THE STATE OF WELL- BEING AS DEFINED BY THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION (WHO): “A POSITIVE PHYSICAL, SOCIAL AND MENTAL STATE; IT IS NOT JUST THE ABSENCE OF PAIN, DISCOMFORT AND INCAPACITY. IT REQUIRES THAT BASIC NEEDS ARE MET, THAT INDIVIDUALS HAVE A SENSE OF PURPOSE, AND THAT THEY FEEL ABLE TO ACHIEVE IMPORTANT PERSONAL GOALS AND PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY”.
