RELIEF OF PERSONS RESIDENT WITHIN THE AREA OF BENEFIT FALLING WITHIN THE DEFINITION OF CHRONICALLY SICK OR DISABLED PERSONS WITHIN THE MEANING OF THE CHRONICALLY SICK AND DISABLED PERSONS ACT 1970 OR ANY ORDER MADE THEREUNDER SUPPLEMENTARY AND IN ADDITION TO ANY RELIEF WHICH THE LOCAL AUTHORITY MAY BE ABLE TO GIVE UNDER THE SAID ACT AND ALSO TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WHERE AND IN CASE NO POWER IS CONFERRED UPON THE LOCAL AUTHORITY TO PROVED THE RELIEF PROPOSED AND WITHIN THEIR DISCRETION TO GIVE A PREFERENCE TO EDUCATIONAL RELIEF.
