The promotion and encouragement of family history, genealogy and associated studies with particular reference to the area that made up the former County of Avon. The society publishes a quarterly journal, holds meetings and talks open to all, operates a website, maintains a research room which offers assistance to members and non-members, and organises and supports Fairs and outreach events.
