THE PREMISES OF THE FOUNDATION ARE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC AND IN PARTICULAR FOR THE INHABITANTS OF THE URBAN DISTRICT OF ASHBURTON AND ARE TO BE MAINTAINED AS A PLACE OF HISTORIC INTEREST AND AS A MUSEUM AND MEETING PLACE FOR OBJECTS CONNECTED WITH ASHBURTON AND OTHER OBJECTS OF HISTORIC INTEREST IN ASHBURTON AND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD.
