TO RELIEVE SICKNESS IN PARTICULAR BY ADVANCING AND PROMOTING EDUCATION AND RESEARCH IN THE TREATMENT OF TRAUMA AND ALL MATTERS RELATING TO THE PROGRESS AND DEVELOPMENT OF THIS FIELD OF SURGERY AND TO DISSEMINATE THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH.
