FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF METTINGHAM AND SURROUNDING AREAS (HEREINAFTER CALLED THE AREA OF BENEFIT) WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, BY PROVIDING AND ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION INCLUDING USE FOR MEETINGS, LECTURES AND CLASSES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE OF THE SAID INHABITANTS
