MEMORANDUM AND ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION INCORPORATED 27 FEBRUARY 2006 AS AMENDED BY SPECIAL RESOLUTION DATED 3 NOVEMBER 2006
Charitable objects
1) TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF OUR COMMUNITY WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF AGE, SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID COMMUNITY AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT, THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION AND PROVISION OF FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATIONS WITH THE OBJECTS OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE OF THE SAID COMMUNITY. 2) TO ESTABLISH OR SECURE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ACCESSIBLE COMMUNITY CENTRE (HEREINAFTER CALLED THE CENTRE) AND TO MAINTAIN AND MANAGE THE SAME (WHETHER ALONE OR IN CO-OPERATION WITH ANY LOCAL AUTHORITY OR PERSON OR BODY) IN FURTHERANCE OF THESE OBJECTS. OUR COMMUNITY IS DEFINED AS THOSE LIVING, WORKING OR STUDYING IN THE FIRST INSTANCE IN BAIRD AND TRESSELL WARDS OF HBC, KNOWN LOCALLY AS ORE VALLEY, AND INCLUDING THE LARGER COMMUNITY OF WHICH IT IS AN INSEPARABLE PART, NAMELY HASTINGS AND ST LEONARD'S AS DEFINED BY THE BOROUGH OF HASTINGS BOUNDARIES.
