TO PROMOTE AND ADVANCE THE VISUAL ARTS FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AND TO ADVANCE THE PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF THE VISUAL ARTS, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY PROMOTING, SUPPORTING, ASSISTING AND IMPROVING ANY COLLECTIONS OR EXHIBITIONS OF VISUAL ARTS IN WHATEVER FORM (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS, PRINTS, DESIGN OBJECTS, PHOTOGRAPHS AND FILMS). FOR THESE PURPOSES, THE VISUAL ARTS SHALL INCLUDE HISTORICAL (POST 1750) AND CONTEMPORARY.
