(1) TO REDUCE POVERTY, DISTRESS AND SUFFERING AMONGST FORMER MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES AND THEIR DEPENDANTS, IN PARTICULAR BY: (A) THE PROVISION OF ACCOMMODATION TO THOSE WHO ARE HOMELESS; (B) THE PROVISION OF TREATMENT, CARE AND REHABILITATION OF THOSE SUFFERING FROM, OR AT RISK OF, MENTAL ILLNESS INCLUDING POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER OR ADDICTION; (C) THE PROVISION OF WORK BASED TRAINING AND EDUCATION TO THOSE WHO ARE UNEMPLOYED; (D) THE PROVISION OF ADVICE AND GUIDANCE TO ASSIST THOSE WHO ARE UNEMPLOYED TO FIND SUITABLE EMPLOYMENT. (2) TO PROMOTE MILITARY EFFICIENCY BY THE PROVISION OF SHORT TERM ACCOMMODATION FOR SERVING PERSONNEL AND THEIR FAMILIES.
