Charitable objects
1) TO PROMOTE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THE EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF CHARITIES AND NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANISATIONS WORKING TO PROMOTE AND DEVELOP SUSTAINABLE RURAL ELECTRIFICATION IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE, CHARITIES ARE ORGANISATIONS WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES. NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANISATIONS ARE INDEPENDENT ORGANISATIONS WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR PURPOSES THAT ADD VALUE TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE, OR A SIGNIFICANT SECTION OF THE COMMUNITY AND WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED BY THEIR CONSTITUTION TO MAKE A PROFIT FOR PRIVATE DISTRIBUTION. 2) FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN REMOTE AREAS OF DEVELOPING COUNTRIES WHERE PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO ELECTRICITY BY: (A) THE PRESERVATION, CONSERVATION AND THE PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE PRUDENT USE OF RESOURCES THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY AND REDUCTION OF FOSSIL FUEL USE; (B) THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE IN SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES; (C) THE PROMOTION OF SUSTAINABLE MEANS OF ACHIEVING ECONOMIC GROWTH AND REGENERATION. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT MEANS “DEVELOPMENT WHICH MEETS THE NEEDS OF THE PRESENT WITHOUT COMPROMISING THE ABILITY OF FUTURE GENERATIONS TO MEET THEIR OWN NEEDS.
